?Der Meisenkaiser“ online now
The short film ‘Der Meisenkaiser’ (The Emperor of the Titmouse), which was awarded at the 35th Bamberg Short Film Festival, is now available on YouTube. The film was created in collaboration between film author Christopher Dillig and Prof. Dr. Yelva Larsen.
It focuses on Dr. Karl-Heinz Schmidt, head of the Ecological Research Station in Schlüchtern. For over 45 years, he has been conducting meticulous long-term observations of cave-breeding songbirds, dormice, bats and insects, creating a treasure trove of data that is unique worldwide.
‘Der Meisenkaiser’ impressively shows how science, education and passion can work together. The idea originated in the seminar ‘School of the Future: Thinking, Feeling, Acting, Changing’ at Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg.
