Transfer of knowledge and technology

In our research group, we strive for scientific excellence and practical relevance. This is why we work closely with companies of all sizes and from a wide range of industries - from start-ups to DAX-listed corporations.

Our research in the field of games and gamification can be applied in a variety of ways to practical challenges, making it easy to initiate collaborative projects.

Previous research projects have taken place in industries such as banking, automotive, manufacturing, retail, engineering, services, education and healthcare. Our work covers areas such as production, logistics, marketing, sales, software development, innovation management, sustainability, communication and education and training.

Starting points for collaboration

Teaching

In our teaching, we focus on challenge-based learning and specifically integrate application-orientated questions. Our primary aim here is to show students how the theoretical principles taught can be applied in practice.

Through guest lectures, we enrich our events with valuable insights from companies and support students in developing ideas for their personal career paths after graduation.

As part of Bachelor's and Master's theses, we co-operate with companies to give our students access to relevant data, for example through case study series, surveys, experiments or usage data from information technologies.

Research

Our research is characterised by its broad applicability in a wide range of industries and domains and offers excellent starting points for interdisciplinary cooperation - be it through industry-funded research projects, joint research proposals or knowledge and technology transfer activities.

The games industry is regarded as a pioneer in the development of digital technologies. Building on our expertise in games and gamification, we support companies outside the games industry in developing game-based products and services, better understanding social changes as a result of trends in the games industry or optimising internal processes using gamification.

We are convinced that gamification and technological developments in the games industry will play a central role in the future of work. This is why we actively support companies in transformation processes through our research, which can be supported by gamification approaches.
