「Joint Doctoral Conference 2025」

Event Review

This year the Joint Doctoral Conference 2025 took place at the University of Bamberg. It was the seventh time this yearly conference took place, with the Universities of Trento, Milan, Barcelona, Tilburg and Bamberg taking turns hosting it. The event brought together many doctoral candidates from different fields, creating a lively atmosphere for sharing research and ideas. Participants from all over Europe and even from Chile and Israel came to Bamberg for the conference. Over the course of the conference, participants presented their work, exchanged thoughts, and built connections that will hopefully continue beyond the event.

We thank all participants and discussants for their contributions and engagement and look forward to next year's Joint Doctoral Conference!

About the Conference

The Seventh Joint Doctoral Conference invites early-career and senior researchers in sociology and social research to engage in a vibrant academic exchange. This annual conference provides PhD students with a platform to present their work, receive constructive feedback from senior scholars, and participate in thought-provoking discussions with peers.

Originally founded as a collaboration between the Universities of Bamberg, Milan, Pompeu Fabra, Tilburg, and Trento, the conference continues to foster academic dialogue
